SUG FEDERAL UNIVERSITY WUKARI SPEARHEADS SECOND PHASE OF "OPERATION KEEP FUW CLEAN".
The real freedom of any individual can always be measured by the amount of responsibility which he must assume for his own welfare and security.
Students of the Federal University Wukari, under the auspices of the Students' Union Government, today, 2nd September 2022 trouped out en masse to again participate in the Second Phase of the General Cleaning Exercise of the university, targeted at contributing immensely to the safety and good health of students.
The sanitation programme christened #Operation_Keep_FUW_Clean# is one of the offshoots of efforts incubated and nurtured by the apex students' union body in the university in keeping the university environment clean, and healthy for students amidst the just abrupted industrial action embarked upon by the Non-academic Staff Union of Universities NASUU.
This phase of the voluntary exercise which suffered great setback as a result of rainfall also incorporated students of various departments and faculties partaking merrily and energetically in the cleaning of the university campus.
Earlier in his address, the Dean of Students' Affairs, Prof. Cletus Sharmdama had decried the impediment occasioned by the downpour in the early hours of the morning, stressing that inspite the natural challenge, all hands should must on deck in ensuring the success of the programme. Prior to the commencement of the exercise, the Dean had in collaboration with the SUG exco on ground allotted portions of the university to various faculties to ensure efficiency in the programme.
In an online interaction with the indomitable President, Students' Union Government, Rt. Comr. Audu Samson Buvini, who was unavoidably absent at the voluntary exercise,it was gathered that the sanitation programme christened #Operation_Keep_FUW_Clean# is one of the offshoots of efforts deployed by the apex students' union body in the university to keep the campus clean and healthy for students, amidst the just abrupted industrial action embarked upon by the Non-academic Staff Union of Universities NASUU.
Comr. Samson eulogized all students who came out to participate in the program inspite the downpour describing them as worthy ambassadors of the university.
Recall that the Students'Union Government, Federal University Wukari, had under the stewardship of Comr. Audu Buvini organized the first phase of the #Keep_FUW_Clean# exercise on the 15th of July,2022;an exercise adjudged to be satisfactory by all and sundry. Pertinent to note is the incontrovertible fact that the department of Sociology had pioneered the first cleaning exercise, although it was not full-fleged and holistic.
The Students' Union Government expresses its profound love and appreciation to all students' unions at faculty and departmental levels for the support given, and restates its commitment towards making the university campus a healthy and robust environment for learning.
