The management of the prestigious Federal University Wukari, today, September 30th, 2022 interfaced with all students' unions of the institution to proffer lasting solutions to the deficit in students' maintenance culture.
The meeting which was held at the Prof. Geoffrey Okogba's Lecture Theater, Federal University Wukari saw all executive committee members of the Students' Union Government, faculties, departments and course representatives coming in one accord to deliberate on modalities targeted at ensuring the safety of public facilities on campus.
Speaking at the meeting, the students'-friendly Vice Chancellor of the university, ably represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Mrs. Judith Adaku Mgbemena retierated the commitment of the university management towards the conducive welfare of all students. She charged students' leaders to disseminate the passionate call on all students of the university to take responsibility by maintaining all public facilities at their disposal.
She decried the high level of non-challant attitudes exhibited by students in the safety of university properties, encouraging all hands to be on deck in ensuring that the university maintains its national reputation of orderliness and decorum. The Professor of English lamented the tortuous economic hardship of the Nigerian nation which has directly abated the high cost of the university administration, soliciting the support of all students' bodies in reorientating their subjects on proper maintenance culture.
While eulogizing the students for their giant strides in environmental cleaning, the Dean, Students' Affairs, Federal University Wukari, Prof. Cletus Emmanuel Sharndama particularly commended all the students of the President Muhammadu Buhari hostel for their maximum synergy in sanitation exercises.
He unvelied the readiness of the university management in partnering with all students' bodies in articulating the maintenance of public facilities, stressing that the office of the Students Affairs in synergy with the Students' Union Government shall introduce functional maintenance regulatory bodies across faculties to ensure outmost compliance from students.
The students' right-hand man highlighted the developmental projects of the Comr. Audu Buvini's led administration at the SUG, which has brought to limelight the establishment of muster points across the university, establishment of volleyball courts in both the Aisha Buhari, and Muhammadu Buhari hostels respectively.
He penultimately expressed his commitment towards social activities, promising to work out modalities for the involvement of social activities in the second semester.
