Federal University wukari,Taraba state 2022 is been summarize under this post as we bring to you the best of 2022 on the campus. 2022 will be a year to remember on the campus as alot of event took place that gave the school a grand upper level as one of the best schools in the country. From vice president visiting the school, Convocating 4 sets and not been among the schools the went on strike as it was one of the effective disease that rock Nigeria Education as ASUU went on strike for another 8 months.
This is Best of 2022 documentary Article as we bring you the top events that happen on campus 2022.
1. VICE PRESIDENT YEMI OSIBANJO VISITS FUWUKARI
On the 13th day of February 2022 was a day to remember in fuwukari and in wukari as a whole as the presidential Helicopter carrying VP Yemi Osibanjo and it's Aides successfully landed on the school field to attend the 2nd Convocation ceremony and Opening of the new built Prof Yemi Osibanjo law complex and other new complexes built prior to his visit.
After inspecting the newly built facilities in the school,He was then drove to the convocation square where the convocation ceremony was taking place ,there he address the Convocating students
โDear graduands, I urge you to see the various challenges in our environment as opportunities for the creation of solutions. We are a nation with a rapidly expanding population with attendant human sustenance needs.โ
โYou must take full advantage of the knowledge and skills you have acquired to innovate and create, be productive and make adding value your motto.โ
โGovernment is ready and willing to support initiatives that would create wealth, jobs and opportunities. This is why we have established initiatives such as the N75 billion National Youth Investment Fund and the CBNโs Creative Sector Fund.โ
โIt is why President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved the investing in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) programme, an over $600million programme that will support young tech and creative sector entrepreneurs through the provision of finance, skills development and infrastructure.โ
โYou all are an integral part of a great future already buzzing to happen; go, donโt hold back.โ
There was tight security and uneven crowd as the Fuwukari Students and The wukari people were embrace with the happiness of seeing the number 2 man in command is in town.
2. FUWUKARI CONVOCATE 2ND,3RD,4TH AND 5TH SETS
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jude Rabo, described the day as a great and special one in the lives of the graduates because it formally marks the end of part of the journey they started years ago.
Fuwukari convocate the 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th sets in a combined convocation ceremony at the convocation square on 13th day of February 2022 which had vice president Yemi Osibanjo in present.
According to the vice Chancellor
โ The University have found you all worthy and in learning and thus worthy of the award of the various degrees that will be conferred on you today. I rejoice with you, your parents and your friends for attaining this feat, you must note that this is a stepping stone to the future and you must prepare to make the best of it as you strive for excellence in your personal and professional endeavours.โ
At the convocation, 3,897 graduates of the university were conferred with Bachelorโs Degrees in various disciplines.
The VC gave the breakdown as follows; Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences 672, Faculty of Humanities Management and Social Science 2,266, Faculty of Pure and Applied Science 1059.
โOne hundred seven students made First Class Bachelorโs Degrees out of 3,897. I, therefore, urge you as ambassadors of the University to represent the school well wherever you find yourselves. You must demonstrate a high sense of character and integrity because this is the basis for success in all endeavoursโ.
Besides, the Vice-Chancellor disclosed that the institution in her quest for excellence has established a Centre for Distance Learning and introduced part-time programmes.
He added that the university has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with two Institutions in India and the Innoson Group of Company in Anambra State with the view to enhance opportunities for both students and staff to engage with colleagues from across the globe.
In his goodwill message, Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku represented by the Secretary to the Government (SGS), Hon. Anthony Jellason said his administration is committed to providing the necessary support for the University to expand its academic activities to meet not only the educational needs of the youths but to also contribute to the development of the state.
He called on the people of Wukari and its neighbouring Benue State to embrace the existing peace that the government was able to restore in the area and the state at large.
Also speaking, the Chancellor of the University, the ONA of Abaji and Chairman of FCT Council of Chiefs, HRM Alh. (Dr) Adamu Bala Yunusa said the numbers of projects commissioned in the school are eloquent testimonies to the administration prowess of the major stakeholders in the university.
3. MOTHER AND SON SIGN OUT THE SAME DAY
On 20th day of April 2022 was another beautiful day to remember on fuwukari campus as mother and son graduate the same day.
The woman named Ogbonna Chinyere and her son, Dennis Samuel Tochukwu signed out of the Federal University, Wukari in their white Outfits after their final examination.
The mother reportedly got admitted through direct entry in 2018 to study Philosophy, while the son got admission in 2017 to study Computer Science.
It was one of the rear feat seen on campus this year as mother and son graduate the same day.
Alot of media outlets shared this news across the country as one of the remarkable feat that happen on fuwukari campus in 2022.
4. NO STRIKE IN FUWUKARI
Probably wwhat will be the best remarkable event in 2022 in the school at the year 2022,When ASUU went to strike on the 14th day of February 2022 which was pronounced a one month strike by ASUU, Fuwukari choose to go one month mid semester break from Tuesday 16th February to Monday 15th March 2022 which cover the period of the one month given by ASUU for the strike.
On the 15th day of March when Asuu declared declared a two month strike, Fuwukari pool a fantastic turn to call it's Students back. There was an arose of celebrations and wild happiness among the students as they will not be part of the strike. We were able to finish our exams for second semester 2020/2021 session comfortably while the strike was still on.
On 29th May 2022, while the strike was still on going to 4 months, Fuwukari pool Another fantastic turn to call it's Students back. The strike lasted for eight months when the first semester of 2021/2022 has already ended. This has given students exictment and proud of thier school and this has given the school a national fame across the country. This will be single out as the best memory of the school in 2022.
5. POLITICIAL SCIENCE POOL THIER FIRST VC CUP IN A DRAMATIC MANNER
The 5th edition of the Vice Chancellor cup competition which includes football and other competitions but at most the football will mark as one of the best editions of the VC cup.
What made it dramatic and the winners politicial science winning it in a dramatic manner?
The 2022 saw many record broken,came to be
it started with forestry winning hospitality with the biggest score margin 7-2 in a VC cup opening match.
Then came medicine scoring a historical fastest goal in a VC cup match just after 4 seconds.
BUSSINESS administration 2 times winners been eliminated in the VC Cup half way for the First time since 2019
There came Champions Politicial science after winning thier first two matches a 1-0 win against English and a 4-1 win against Banking and finance. They came short of 1-0 lose at the hands of Adult Education but got a consolation when it was learnt that the goal kepper of Adult Education was not a student which is against the rules of the competition, Politicial science were given a rout to semi final whereby Adult Education been ban from the competition for 2 years for thier actions.
Politicial science follow from en route to beating History 1-0 in final in a dramatic manner.
